Examining My Life

Socrates famously said;"The unexamined life is not work living",  while on trial for heresy.  As I understand it, Socrates was challenging his students to examine commonly held beliefs and think independently.  The purpose of this blog is for me to examine my life, and if the inverse of what Socrates said is true; my goal is threefold;

  • Examine my Life
  • Share my Thoughts publicly
  • Change direction (career, life) and journal progress.
  • Get Feedback from readers

Daily, I plan to examine the following topics that I see as highly important to my life;

  • Life Purpose; including my definition 'success', career satisfaction (and dis-satisfaction), mini-retirements
  • Money; how much is enough, a 5 figure income pledge, my charitable portfolio.
  • Religion; purpose
  • Time; spending time well.
  • Love; what I want, need.

About me;

  • Engineer undergrad education
  • Utility (Electricity) is my employer
  • Burn-out at work 1 yr ago
  • Dis-satisfied in career since
  • Christian Faith background
I hope you can join me on examining life. Examining leads to Planning, having a Plan outlines the steps to make Change, making a Change is what I need.
